Octagon: Transition between heaven and earth, Utica city hall, NY, 2006

“Octagon: Transition Between Heaven and Earth”, WTC Memorial, Aluminum, fabric, steel; 192” x 480” x 480’. A working model for walking meditation in circular movement. Using 8-part division of space, transparency and light in order to create the feeling of spirals upward. This particular installation was in Utica, New York, City Hall and commemorated the 5th anniversary of 9/11. This project facilitated total community involvement, bringing together the business and manufacturing sectors as well as local government, Sculpture Space and the arts community, and students from Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, a satellite campus of the Pratt Institute.
